Map: Norwegian Polar Institute

Hopen is a deserted island in the Arctic Ocean that is part of the Barents Sea. There is only one station from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute there that has some welfare cabins, as well as some old trappers' cabins that trappers have set up many years ago. The station is staffed by only four people and Svenn Erik Høylie was the technician there for six months in 2020.
